Excerpt: There has been a noticeable increase in fisherfolk population in the districts of Muang and Kapur, which are close to the artificial reef sites AR1,AR2 and AR3. This could be partly due to increase in population and partly due to the influx of immigrant fisherfolk in search of better prospects. Socioeconomic assessment of the fisherfolk community is an important component to link their status and well-being to the bioeconomics of their livelihood ? fishing.
