Executive Summary: The Senate Report 106-53, accompanying the Department of Defense Appropriation Bill, 2000, page 131, requested the Department of Defense (D.O.D.) to conduct an evaluation of the application and benefits of behavioral, cognitive and social science research in the military. This reporting requirement was based on the Committee’s concern that D.O.D. support for this area of research is eroding. (Appendix A contains the pertinent language from the SAC report.) ...
